On top of all her troubles Spain is now being used as a weapon in the French presidential campaign, with Sarkozy saying to the voters – look what seven years of Socialist government did to Spain, do we want to go down the same road?
Open government seems to be one political mess in Andalucia and the uncertainty as to who will govern for the next four years is also being reflected in the northern region of Asturias where the incumbent premier Francisco Álvarez-Cascos ( pictured right) and his Asturias Citizens Forum (FAC) are doing all they can to keep the Socialists from retaking the government.
The day after the election in Andalucia, some of the talking heads on the TV political chat shows put forward the theory that the unions had called the general strike for March 29th with the specific aim of sabotaging what appeared was going to be a landslide victory for the Partido Popular.
