PHEW

It’s getting ridiculous…. by the time I get back from this holiday I’m going to need another to get over it! We have been to Sydney, Melbourne, Sorrento, Queensville, Mount Buller (pictured), Tasmania and tomorrow we’re off along the Great Ocean Road to Torquay for a couple of days. We’ve fed koalas, kangaroos, wombats, wallabies, Tasmanian devils, emus, ostriches and a 15-week- old lion cub. We’ve rounded up cattle and sheep on quad bikes, climbed mountains, and paddled in creeks, rivers and the ocean.

The weather here on the other side of the world is changeable. It’s just getting into the summer so some days we have been getting 80º and others as low as 19º and raining buckets. It’s nice to have changes but the problem is that when you’re travelling by air you can’t take much and, yes, you could come with an empty case and buy stuff to suit the weather but then you’ve still got to be mindfull of your 20kg limit on the way back.

I hear that you’ve been having good weather over there in Spain so that’s good news – far better than last year’s pouring with rain all the time. I also hear from the news that our new government is putting up taxes to cover the debts. All very well but when small businesses are struggling anyway, what’s the point? Cafés can only charge so much for a cup of coffee, so where exactly does the government think they’re going to get the extra money from to pay these new taxes? Madness! They need government help not another kick in the teeth!!
