After five weeks in Australia I am back at my desk – somewhat jet lagged but slowly getting there.
The journey is, of course, horrendous with one flight of eight hours followed by another of 12 hours but at least you get where you’re going within a reasonable space of time.
Personally, I think we should all wait until we are able to do a “Star Trek” and they’ll be able to “beam me up Scotty” and I’ll be there in less than a nanosecond. Talking of which, I have a new jet lag theory for you. I have come to the conclusion that it’s not so much the change in the hour that gets you as being on an aircraft that is constantly shifting so your balance is all out – a bit like getting your sea legs on a ship. What do you think? Could that be right?
I will be carrying on with the Letter from A Broad articles about areas to visit and things to do in the Sydney, Victoria and Tasmania areas should you happen to fancy a trip there. There is loads to do and see, the only problem being that you need to do a year there to fit it all in really!
Lastly, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has worked on The News while I’ve been away, you can get over your nervous breakdowns now!, plus Jackie for looking after my animals, and Abigail for looking after my house. It was lovely to come home and find a clean tidy house and grounds and happy animals.
Thanks everyone.
