amie Oliver flew the flag for Britain on Sunday when he picked up a pukka TV award. The Naked Chef won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Reality Programme for his series Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution.
Other leading Brits, like Dame Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Michael Sheen, Michael Gambon, Ian McKellan, and Patrick Stewart, had to be content with nominations in their categories as US actors and programmes swept the board.
One actress did help ease the disappointment for Britain - London born Archie Panjabi picked up the Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in US legal drama The Good Wife.
Panjabi appeared in British movie successes East is East and Bend It Like Beckham, before moving to Los Angeles to further her career.
