Brand and Perry's Big Break Up

Russell Brand has filed for divorce from his wife of 14 months Katy Perry. The couple who got engaged shortly after meeting at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards,now seem to be going their separate ways. Brand was the one who decided to end the marriage, after rows over when to have children. Pop artist Perry, 27, wasn't keen on becoming a mother or ready to settle down, while Brand, 36, was set on starting a family. The couple have have been arguing for over six months and their relationship has been surrounded by rumours of a split over the last few weeks. Reports say that, Perry gave Brand his wedding ring back just a week before Christmas.

Perry recently embarked on a 122-date tour which meant that the couple have been forced to spend a lot of this year apart.

Brand's lawyers filed the divorce papers at Los Angeles Superior Court citing "irreconcilable differences" on Friday.
