Austerity measures will not affect the 16th Luna Mora festival in Guaro, which will be held over two weekends – the 7th and 8th and the 14th and 15th of September.
Singer Clara Montes will open the event on the 7th, accompanied by two sculptors Chiqui Diaz and Javier Ayarza, who will create a sculpture in bronze on stage and the closing concert will be given by flamenco singer and composer Manual Carrasco on the 15th.
Twenty thousand candles will provide the light for some 40 traditional events such children’s and adults’ workshops, story telling sessions and medieval processions, all focusing on the town’s Al-Andalus past.
The activities will take place in the Luna Mora theatre, the Los Cuentos Square, the Moorish Souk, the Al-Andalus cultural centre, the San Miguel Arcangel church, Constitucion square and Los Mesones avenue.
Some 15,000 visitors are expected on each of the festival’s four days.
