Toll not an isolated incident

Gibraltar's GSLP-Liberals have warned that La Linea Mayor Alejandro Sánchez’s toll on vehicles is part of "a wider campaign which reaches many fronts", which includes an attempt to designate Gibraltar's territorial waters as Spanish under EU environmental legislation as well as increased incursions into local waters and airspace by the Spanish Navy and the Guardia Civil.

Ambassador checks out Ronda

US Ambassador Alan Solomont was in Ronda last weekend to attend the Pedro Romero fiesta and check out the sights of a town that First Lady Michele Obama had promised to visit again in the future and “not on her own”.

Village thanked for saving Marines

US ambassador Alan Salomont visited the small town of  last week to honour the 19 surviving residents who helped rescue 24 Marines in March 1960 when their plane crashed in the nearby mountains. Two of the surviving Marines, James Frank Zaio and Francis John Rup, accompanied the ambassador.

Food products at risk of extinction

Five restaurants around Malaga province have joined together in the effort to save several typical agricultural products from extinction. They include Malaga lettuce, the lemons and sweet oranges of the Guadalhorce valley, the Ronda pear and the olives of Alora, most of which are now mainly consumed by the people who grow them.
