Vouchers for young non-drinkers
The Ayuntamiento is handing out petrol vouchers worth €20 to young people who can prove they haven't had a drink all night. The catch is they have to turn up three times for a breathalyser test which must be negative before they get the voucher. A council spokesman said the idea was to convince young people to take turns at being non-drinking drivers when they go out with friends. The scheme is supported by the Spanish Federation of Alcoholic Drinks.
