Ambassador checks out Ronda

US Ambassador Alan Solomont was in Ronda last weekend to attend the Pedro Romero fiesta and check out the sights of a town that First Lady Michele Obama had promised to visit again in the future and “not on her own”.
Mrs Obama had asked about the Easter processions and Mr Solomont took the matter further, asking about all the fiestas held in the town every year.
Mayor Antonio Marin said the ambassador's visit seemed “more like an inspection”which had raised his hopes that Mrs Obama would return one day with her husband.
