Doctors working at health centres in Andalucia are among the lowest paid in the country, earning just under €50,000 a year, €24,000 less than their counterparts in those in Murcia, the Basque Country, Ceuta and Melilla, the highest paid who earn just over €74,000 a year.
According to a study by Granada's Doctors Association, doctors in Andalucia, Extremadura, Valencia and Las Canarias lose out all round. They are paid less for overtime, usually have a heavier work load and receive lower travel allowances.
