The National Police arrested a 60-year-old Spaniard in Cordoba province last Thursday and charged him with the murder of the 55-year-old owner of a bar in Torremolinos on Wednesday. Witnesses said Juan, the owner, had told the man, identified only as A.T.R., to stop pestering a girl in the bar.
He left the bar, saying he would be back, and returned with a gun. Shouting, “It's the last time you'll tell me off in public,” he shot the owner and fled. Police searched the man's home near the bar but he had disappeared.
They finally tracked him down to a house in Pozoblanco in Cordoba. He still had the gun used in the shooting and blood on his clothes matched that of the dead man. It was the second shooting on the Costa del Sol in less than a week.
In the first shooting, an Irishman killed a Briton at a bar in Riviera del Sol, Mijas Costa. He was arrested in Coin two days later and is in jail awaiting trial.
