Malaga’s chief prosecutor, Juan Carlos López Caballero, said on Monday that all reports of stolen babies "should be investigated...
...whether or not they could be verified because of lack of information and the time that has elapsed”. He said there were a large number of reports in Malaga of parents who had been told that their children died at birth, only to find out later that they were given in adoption to other couples.
The oldest cases go back to the 1940s and the most recent ones date back to the 1990s.
