Brit’s body found in Huelva

The body of the 18-year-old Briton who has not been seen since he went for a swim off Bota beach in Huelva on Sunday afternoon was discovered on Tuesday morning at a beach four miles away by two Civil Protection volunteers working with the search parties which had been searching for the youth since he disappeared. There will be an autopsy, but a Guardia Civil spokesman said it was believed to be death by drowning. The sea off Bota beach is known for its treacherous currents and several people have drowned there in recent years.

CO2 emissions down

The Junta de Andalucia's environment department has managed to reduce CO2 emissions by 19 per cent per year over the past six years, largely thanks to its Emissions Compensation System (SACE) which encourages companies to join the fight against climate change. Last week, 12 companies in Huelva signed an agreement to joint the system, bringing to total number of companies participating in the scheme to 57.

A Junta spokesman said its objective was a reduction of 30 per cent per year by 2020.

Gay couple files complaint

A gay couple made a formal complaint to police in Seville after they were stopped from dancing traditional sevillanas together in one of the many casetas at the city's April Fair, which ended on Sunday. The couple said that when one of the women realized they were gay,  she ordered the group that was playing music to stop. She and her husband, who was the "president" of the caseta, approached them to tell them "they could not dance, that they were in a respectable caseta, and that two men could not dance together." The couple were then invited to leave the tent.
