The association MalagaCON, set up three years ago by the Malaga Tourist Board to attract international congresses to the Costa del Sol, has announced that more than 20 congresses are booked between now and 2015. These include the Annual European Economic Association's meeting and the European Meeting of the Econometric Society. MalagaCON is currently working on its presentation to the IFLA World Library whose congresses are among the largest in the world.
A MalagaCON spokesman said the bookings made Malaga the third most important congress destination in Spain, after Madrid and Barcelona and gave the local economy a tremendous boost.
