The government has decided to close access to Western Beach until further notice as a cautionary measure..
.. due to certain circumstances in which a storm drain in La Linea was adversely affected earlier this year. This led to higher than acceptable readings of pollution.
In recent weeks readings have shown continuous high levels of pollution at the beach exceeding that of acceptable bathing water standards.
