The next film in English at the La Trocha cinema in Coín is now confirmed as the new highly acclaimed romantic comedy “Silver Linings Playbook.” (It was advertised on UK television around Christmas time).
Montana Red are Liz and Paul Cox. They have been living on the Costa del Sol for the past ten years working as a cabaret duo in the Thompson hotels, timeshares and Irish bars.
We have just heard about an art exhibition taking place on Sunday, February 17th at Villa Padierna Hotel from 12 noon until 6pm. With free entrance this exhibition, entitled “Passion In Art – that little flame that is not to be snuffed out” features work from artists, including local silk screen artist Chandy Haggett, and features a special appearance from John Myatt, famed for his part in the most ingenious art con of the 20th century and now acclaimed as ’convicted art forger made good’!
We will tell you more about this and the artists next week.

The Andalucian Garden Club (TAGG), meets on the second Tuesday of the month in Bar La Penita, (behind the BP Garage), Calle Gerald Brennan in Alhaurin el Grande – 5.30 pm for a 6 o’clock start.
The first Sunday morning walk (or ride) along the Rio Grande in Coin in aid of the horse rescue centre in Alhaurin el Grande, Cyd Santa Maria, was enjoyed by everyone who participated and raised 100 euros for the charity (see The News issue 208).
This coming Sunday, February 10th there is a second walk, only this time it will be a bit later at 11.30am. It’s a delightful way to spend a Sunday morning and to help raise money for a very worthwhile cause – the 5 euro entry fee includes drinks and yummy cakes afterwards.
