Test Match at Cartama as season hots up
There will be a 30 overs a side Test Match at the Cartama Oval starting at 10.30am on Saturday (May 21st).The two sides will consist of 11 players all recruited from the response to the regular articles in the News.
Whatever the result of the cricket, we are now in a position to field two teams.This is a real achievement in such a short time and I'd like to thank all those who have made it possible. We now have a real mix of cricketers, some with great experience, some that have not played for a long time, and some who until recently had never held a bat 'in anger'.
We also have our first Spanish guy on board, who until last week didn't know anything about the game, but who has overnight turned into a sensation, both with the bat and the ball.
We will enter one team into the existing Costa del Sol league and the other team will play friendlies. The name of the new club cannot be revealed just yet as we are in negotiation with some major sponsors. Hopefully all will be revealed next week.
