Our first outing of the year took us to Calanova with our newly installed Captain Terry Birtles in charge for the first time.
The course looked good and the views in the sunshine were stunning as always. Some of the players found the course hard to score on but, as always, some members proved that wrong.
Nearest the pin on hole 8 was Mark Thompson. Nearest the pin in two shots on hole 15 was Duncan Burrell. Longest drive on hole 11 was Barry Williams.
The team winners with 105 points were Andy Macfarlane, Zack Sturgess, Gerry Owens and Nick Carwood.
The days main competition results were, in third place with 33 points Brian Millwood, second place with 34 points was Terry Birtles – must be his new position. In first place with 37 points was Andy Macfarlane.
Terry’s Par Three competition was as follows. Hole 6. Ian Vaughan, Hole 13. Dave Williams and Hole 17. Barry Duran. I?can´t remember who won the wooden spoon, sorry!
Our next outing is to Cabopino on the 16th of February, details on our website: www.coinopengolfsociety.com
or on the notice board in The Bistro, Sierra Gorda Coin.
