It makes a change for us to play locally and the trip to Lauro was worthwhile as the course as always was in great condition and the greens ran true.
Also it was nice to have some old faces back playing with us. Welcome back Dave and Mike.
Nearest the pin on hole 25 was won by Ian Vaughan. Nearest the pin in two shots on hole 20 was won by Ian Brewer. Longest drive on hole 17 was won by Andy Macfarlane.
Team prize with a great 101 points was won by Nick Carwood, Ian Brewer, Del Allwood and Andy Macfarlane.
In third place with 31 points was Andy Macfarlane. (I am getting fed up with typing Andy’s name!) In second place with 33 points was Dave Haworth. In first place with 36 points was Nick Carwood. Well done Nick.
The wooden spoon was won by Mike Brian but, to be fair, Mike hasn’t played for a long time and it was nice to see him back.
Terry’s par three competition on hole 14 was won by Joe King and on hole 21 by Nick Carwood. As always the members would like to thank Andy Macfarlane, Dave Haworth and our Captain Terry Birtles for all their efforts to make the day run smoothly.
Our next outing is at Alhaurin Golf on the 20th April, all are welcome. If you would like to join our society we welcome all levels of players with or without a handicap so if you would like to join us membership will cost you €25 in the first year and €10 per year thereafter.
So feel free to contact us via the website to arrange to play in one of our events.
