Homeshares’ Two Bowl Pairs

The competition had originally been scheduled to celebrate The Royal Wedding but had been postponed because of bad weather. The Sponsors “Homeshares.net” and “Vasari Café”  were delighted to be associated with Superbowl who, as always, provided a great venue for this prestigious competition. Sixteen pairs were drawn into four groups, each group played three short games of six ends. The bowling was superb and all four groups were closely contested to find the eventual winners.

The semi finals were as follows:

Denis Tolfree & Pat Fisher   v  Chrissie Blackburn & Ronny Lamb.
Irene Bhreatnach & Craig Lewis  v  Russell Borley & Andy Salmon.

The eventual winners and therefore finalists were:

Chrissie Blackburn & Ronny Lamb  v  Russell Borley & Andy Salmon. An exciting final with more excellent bowling, after three ends the score was a close, three - two to Russell’s Team.

The outcome after the sixth end left a four – four draw. With plenty of cheering from the spectators an extra end was played, Chrissie drew a superb bowl touching the jack and sitting just behind it. This looked like it was going to be very difficult to beat. With a superb firing shot Andy cleared the bowl to leave it wide open for the skips. With two close draw bowls from Ronny his pair became the eventual winners. A lovely afternoon’s bowling with superb was finished up with a BBQ. After the winners and runners up were presented with their cash prizes,  a surprise was announced. Each player received a gift voucher for a meal for two in exchange for their completed score cards!
