John McEnroe believes Andy Murray is among three players who can win this year's US Open. The four-time US Open champion is a fan of Murray's game and has backed the British number one to break his major duck within the next 12 months.

Laura Robson missed out on a place in the main draw of the US Open after losing in the last round of qualifying. The British teenager made a good start against Spain's Nuria Llagostera Vives, winning the first set 6-2 in New York. The 16-year-old lost the next two sets 6-4 6-3 after losing the last five games.
